About the Author
J.D. Freeman Sr. is a storyteller, poet, and creative visionary with a passion for using words to inspire hearts of all ages. Born in North Louisiana and a proud graduate of Green Oaks High School, J.D.'s journey as an artist began in 1989 through photography—capturing powerful moments that would later shape his writing.
His passion for self-expression led to the release of his first book, The Traveler—a soulful collection of prose and poetry that resonates with readers seeking depth and reflection. Years later, he shifted his focus to the world of children’s literature, publishing Use Your Words—a vibrant and uplifting story that helps young minds discover the power of communication, kindness, and emotional awareness.
J.D.’s work has also been featured in literary collections like Beneath the Harvest Moon and Tapestry of Thoughts, and his storytelling has made a lasting impact in classrooms and communities across the South. As a motivational speaker, he has delivered messages of creativity, purpose, and empowerment to schools, encouraging the next generation to find their voice.
He continues to share his gift through bi-weekly blog posts, author appearances, and book signings around the country. To book J.D.
